Del Heles - President

Del Heles is the Founder and President of Computer Market Research™ (CMR) Prior to establishing his company in 1984, Del worked as a market research consultant, developing marketing and business plans for small businesses, and helping them to obtain loans and counsel from the U. S. Small Business Administration (SBA). He then acted as Executive Director for Industrial Development Inc., a non-profit economic development organization based in Denver, Colorado.

After completing several research studies for companies such as Stoffer's Food, Weatherby Inc. and the U.S. Bureau of Printing and Engraving, Del focused his efforts on reducing the financially labor-intensive burdens of his clients to manage and use data in a proactive efficient manner. Using his knowledge of channel data management and his insight to channel visibility, Heles and his team developed software as solution modules that automated data collection. From basic customer matching to combining and matching complex channel data information, CMR quickly became the leader in streamlining processes for their customers. Customers have enjoyed both tactical and financial rewards as a result.

Beginning with an Electronic Warranty Registration solution for Acer America, Del applied an in-depth understanding of channel conflicts and the CMR lead software development teams in the creation of new systems to streamline data collection methods, Soon thereafter, CMR was providing services to industry giants such as Lucent Technologies, Palm and Fujitsu.

Other software applications and services currently offered include the a secure portal for VAR’s, 4VARS.com, and web-based tools to automate standard processes in Co-op/MDF Administration, Channel POS Reporting and Data Collection, License and Subscription Renewals, SPIFs and Rebates, Enterprise-wide Contact Management, Partner Relationship Management and Customer Relationship Management.

Today, with software development teams and field staff in San Diego and San Jose, California, CMR creates turnkey Channel POS and data management solutions for companies that distribute products to the high tech industry. Partnering closely with the needs of their customers, Del’s vision and hands-on philosophy, has allowed CMR to also offer a wide array of products into other industries where channel management is an essential to business practices.

Rick Bussell - Vice President of Sales

Rick Bussell - Vice President of Sales

Rick Bussell is the Vice President of Sales at Computer Market Research (CMR). Since joining the company in 2003, Rick has been involved with new product development and the acquisition, implementation and training of new customers. He brings 20 years of sales and marketing experience in the software industry to CMR.

Prior to joining CMR, Rick held a variety of jobs in sales and marketing including VAR Channel management and channel sales. Also prior to joining CMR, Rick built a successful business as a VAR in the Customer Relationship Management market and was the #2 reseller worldwide for 3 years and #1 authorized training center for 2 years.

Rick’s experience in sales and marketing is built on a previous career in systems and programming and MIS management. Rick developed both operating systems and applications in the NCR mainframe market.

Passionate about the quality of life in the San Diego community, Rick currently serves a mayoral appointment as the Chair of the Mission Bay Park Committee and also is a member of the Park and Recreation Board for the City of San Diego. Additionally, Rick is the Vice-Chair of the Linda Vista Community Planning Group; a member of the Linda Vista Town Council and a member of the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT), a division of FEMA.

Karen Knight - Marketing Consultant

Karen Knight - Director of Marketing

Karen Knight first consulted for Computer Market Research in 2005 and then joined the company again in 2007. Karen brings over 20 years of managerial/executive level experience in strategic planning, sales, marketing and brand development to our team. A results-driven leader, Karen has a consistent track record in inspiring new and unique partnerships to help individuals, teams and organizations achieve maximum performance.

Prior to joining CMR, Karen held marketing positions with corporations, higher education institutions and non profits including 3Com Corporation, the City and County of San Francisco, Santa Clara University and LEGOLAND California. Her entrepreneurial approach to marketing, brand messaging and go-to market strategies across vertical and horizontal market segments, brought each employer unprecedented success. Additionally as the owner of her own agency, Blue Wolf Associates, Karen has helped a wide array of businesses to develop strategic plans and integrated marketing campaigns to strengthen brand visibility, develop new business and enhance business communications.

Karen holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Recreation Administration and Master’s level coursework in Business Administration from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo. Additionally, she has earned her Certified Trade Show Marketer (CTSM) credential from Northern Illinois University, (achieved by less than 1% of all industry professionals). She is a past member of the President’s Advisory Council for California Polytechnic State University, and is currently an active volunteer and member of the board of directors for Women in the Industry (WIN). She also provides strategic marketing support for VillaMusica, a non-profit organization which supports community music programs in San Diego County. As a native Californian, Karen enjoys outdoor recreation of all sorts, including hiking, sailing, swimming and travel to various destinations.

Mark Bryson - Director of Information Technology

Mark Bryson - Director of Information Technology

Mark Bryson joined CMR as Director of Information Technology in 2008. With over 14 years experience in expertise management of large organizations with multiple levels of management within the Information Technologies industry, Mark’s background includes administrating and managing projects ranging from network migrations, e-mail conversions and new system rollouts.

Mark excels in the design and implementation phase of managing large scale networks that build on Microsoft & enterprise core technologies. Responsible for the design, configuration and administration of the high availability production environments, Mark oversees all of the network operations for CMR which includes the software development lifecycle. Driven by customer satisfaction, he works exceptionally well within our team to maintain maximum productivity and uptime. He is personality involved in both network administration and system administration tasks to support both wide area networks and local area networks.

Prior to joining the executive team at Computer Market Research, Mark was the Technology Director at Nomatterware, Inc, where he had full charge of the day to day field engineering, installation and professional services for their regional systems. Specializing in computer networking and VoIP telephone and software systems, Mark was responsible for the design and implementation of their VoIP and network installations. His background also includes tenure as a Network Administrator at California Horsetrader Publications and with Alignent Software Inc. Additionally Mark has extensive management experience as President and Founder of Classic DNS, a leading provider of web-based solutions and online hosting services.

Accomplished architect within the commercial software industry, Mark’s analytical skills have been extremely instrumental in identifying critical issues and implementing effective solutions. Mark has an extensive background in the following broad-based competencies:

Jim Bears - Chief Technology Officer

Jim comes to Computer Market Research (CMR) with a proven ability to develop high-performance applications and technical innovation. For over 16 years, Jim has worked in all aspects of Software Development. He has been repeatedly recognized for developing innovative solutions for multi-million dollar, globally deployed software and systems. Jim is responsible for full lifecycle development of next-generation software, from initial requirement gathering to design, coding, testing, documentation, and implementation.

Also, Jim has developed and deployed: Software-as-a-Service: (SaaS) Customer Relationship Management solutions for maintaining customer/employee interactions or "touch points" for clients such as Bell South, Cingular, and Domino’s Pizza, among others. Jim applied Adaptive Business Intelligence logic coupled with solid database practices to create highly-usable, stable, and scalable systems. Jim’s vision of software and its future rest on the foundation of best practices, proven technologies, and excellent leadership strategies to plan, execute, maintain, and deliver tomorrow’s solutions.

Dan Davidson - Development Manager

Dan Davidson - Development Manager

Dan Davidson joined Computer Market Research in 2008 and brought over 14 years of management and software development experience in database design, programming and administration, as well as manufacturing, financial, and reporting software implementation. Starting at CMR as a Database Administrator, Dan’s expertise quickly earned his promotion to Development Manager in spring of 2009.

Prior to joining the management team at CMR, Dan was a Sr. Programmer and DBA for Stratagene (now Aligent), where he and his team developed Intranet and Internet applications for reporting and Business Intelligence (BI) , as well as custom applications to support the biotech company.

After a long tenure of managing manufacturing and financial software implementations, Dan founded and managed Ocean Beach Software, where he conceptualized, designed and constructed M/PC, a MRP II/ERP manufacturing software solution.

Dan holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering Technology from Western Washington University. His professional training includes: Stanford Executive Institute Management, SQL Server Business Intelligence including Reporting Services and OLAP, SQL Server Administration, and many MRPII/ERP systems including Pick, Fourth Shift, MRP9000 and Syspro.

Outside of work, Dan enjoys getting his hands dirty working on cars, houses, or just about anything else he can find to fix.

Steven Martin - Senior Web Designer/Developer

Steven Martin - Senior Web Designer/Developer

Steve is CMR’s in-house Web Designer/Developer, with expertise in User Interface Design, Graphics Development, Flash Animation and the development of Dynamic HTML (DHTML). He comes to CMR with five years of industry experience, focused in the Silicon Valley of California.

Steve’s previous projects include working as a Graphics and Web Developer for Presentek, Inc, a third party design team; Exemplary.com, a Hewlett- Packard startup focused on Supply Chain Management; Ecommercepath.com, a trading organization; and FinancialCircuit.com, an online loan facilitating company. Steve has a BA in Political Science, a BA in Philosophy, and is involved in continuing his education to include Microsoft .NET framework.

Adrienne Bellomo - Manager of Professional Services

Adrienne Bellomo - Manager of Professional Services

Adrienne Bellomo joined Computer Market Research in September, 2007. Prior to joining the management team at CMR, Adrienne worked for the Michigan Economic Development Corporation. Starting out as an International Trade Representative, Adrienne consulted with Michigan-based companies, who were exporting goods and services to Japan. It was this expertise that resulted in her quick promotion to a Research Analyst for the corporation and allowed her the opportunity to expand her skills, working with a wide array of corporations and small companies that would bring economic vitalization to the state of Michigan.

In 2007, Adrienne relocated to a warmer climate in Southern California, and joined Computer Market Research as a Data Analyst. It was quite apparent during her initial tenure that her talents were underutilized and she quickly advanced into the role of Account Manager. Through her leadership and exemplary customer service, Adrienne was promoted in May, 2009 to her current role as Manager of Professional Services. Overseeing customer service, new projects and many of the account management day to day activities, Adrienne trains and troubleshoots for a wide array of CMR clients and staff.

An avid soccer player since childhood, Adrienne continues to organize, manage and participate in adult co-ed soccer leagues. Holding a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Bowling Green State University, Adrienne also spent time as a foreign exchange student attending Nanzan University in Nagoya, Japan. She continues to practice her Japanese language skills and welcomes a good challenge to interact with CMR customers who are fluent in the language.

Elvins Vu - Operations Manager

Elvins Vu - Operations Manager

Elvins’ commitment to excellence is reflected in the technical and business consulting he provides as Operations Manager. Elvins ensures proper training, implementation and analytic support is provided to CMR’s customers through his detailed knowledge of Partner Avenue; his in-depth understanding of our customers and his expertise regarding their point of sale activities. Elvins is responsible for overseeing analytics and high level reporting for many of CMR’s clients who are the most prominent high-tech corporations in the industry. He provides analytic support to optimize Channel POS information collection and develops compelling reports to help manufacturers gain business intelligence on customers which can be used to grow revenues.

Joining Computer Market Research in 2004, Elvins started as a Data Warehouse Analyst / Business Intelligence Report Developer. He has worked in several capacities over the years, each strengthening his skills and depth of knowledge in channel data management.

Prior to joining CMR, Elvins was contracted out by Network Plus Technology as a Network Technician for the Navy Marine Corps Intranet (NMCI) Project where he worked with data migration, staging and deployment. Elvins also worked for Racksaver Inc. where he led a team of 9 technicians in building 1-U, 2-Us and 4Us server systems .Prior to his tenure there, Elvins worked with Westech 2000 Staffing Solutions, providing computer systems and Web development support.

A graduate of San Diego State University, Elvins Vu has a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science. His credentials also include Dell Certified System Expert (DCSE) in Desktops and Portables Certification V5.0 Latitude. Additionally, Elvins has completed coursework in several SAP BusinessObjects components and functionality in data services. He is currently looking into his next educational venture to expand his knowledge of analytics, reporting and the channel.

Stella Evans - Project Manager

Stella Evans - Project Manager

Joining Computer Market Research in 2008, Stella Evans began her professional career in an administrative position. Aggressively learning all aspects of her job, Stella soon took on additional responsibilities such as writing software specifications and drafting contract proposals for CMR customers. She quickly grew into the role of an Account Manager, proactively resolving client issues and working as the primary contact for new projects for some of CMR’s largest and highest profile clients.

Still overseeing CMR accounts, Stella has advanced into her current role as Project Manager for Channel Programs. Stella is responsible for prioritizing projects, building and managing project schedules, and ensuring that the client’s vision is achieved upon deployment. Working with a wide variety of products including Co-op/MDF, Deal Registration, Opportunity Registration, Special Pricing Requests and Reseller Profile, Stella manages teams of developers and oversees the quality assurance testing of channel data software programs from project set up through implementation.

Earning her Bachelor of Science degree from University of California, San Diego in General Biology and Master of Arts degree from San Diego State University in Educational Leadership, Stella has a passion for learning in a variety of disciplines, as well as advancing her skills in Project Management. She received her Professional Certificate in Project Management from San Diego State University and plans to apply for her credential as a certified Project Management Professional (PMP). Stella is also an active member of the Project Management Institute, San Diego chapter.
